PILCROW
A game of words for writers

The words you half know, drilled until they’re yours.

Pilcrow takes the words a writer recognises but never reaches for, and works them into the hand: a few minutes a day of stories, games and sentences of your own, timed to arrive just before you would forget them.

  • iStories, then games. Each word arrives with its origin, a line from literature and its near relations, then comes back as quick tap games and a sentence to write.
  • iiReview that remembers for you. A spaced schedule brings each word back as it starts to slip, and the game plays offline on a phone.
  • iiiA crow with opinions. Rook, the house crow, reads the sentences you write and tells you, drily, whether the word earned its place.
